Cardiac Registered Dietitians
Read MoreHow Cardiac Nutrition Can Reinvent Your Cardiovascular Health
Eating well forms the foundation of good health and the avoidance of disease, but the myriad of information available on the subject can create confusion. Healthy eating should not feel like an eternal “diet”, rather, it should empower you, fuel you and allow you to celebrate the joy that great tasting food can bring.
Our team of Registered Dietitians and Cardiac Nutritional Therapists are specialists in cardiovascular health and can answer any questions you may have. They can work with you independently, or alongside current treatment programmes, to address your specific concerns and help you to achieve long-term optimal health. Our clinical dietitians will be able to detail a cardiovascular diet plan that works for you and your individual circumstances, helping you to incorporate a cardiac healthy diet that will make a difference.
If you are interested in receiving practical diet and lifestyle advice for you and your family from a Cardiovascular Dietitian and Nutritionist, please Book an Appointment and complete our Pre-Consultation Health Questionnaire. By filling this in, we will have all the information we require to assess your diet and lifestyle effectively and be able to recommend any further services or clinical care, such as a heart screening, towards maintaining your future health.

Why Do I Need a Cardiovascular Diet Plan?
Having a healthy heart is heavily influenced by the lifestyles we lead. Whilst it is difficult to avoid all food and drink that are unhealthy for us, understanding why they are unhealthy and what the long-term effect of regular consumption will do is important so that we can make better choices to avoid increased cardiac related problems. Booking an appointment at The Keyhole Essex Heart Clinic with one of our registered Dietitians is the first step towards having that cardiac healthy diet that will have a positive effect on your hearts normal function. In general, a balanced diet is always recommended that provides nutrition from each of the main food groups. Many ‘fad diets’ that may seem like they will help you be healthier may be having a detrimental effect on your cardiac nutrition.
Our clinical dietitians will be able to design a cardiovascular diet plan for you that will incorporate a balance of food groups, for example:
- Protein rich food such as some meats, fish, eggs, beans, nuts etc.
- Fruit and vegetables that provide at least 5 portions a day
- Some milk and dairy products
- Reduced amounts of sugar, saturated fat, and salt
- Wholegrain foods such as rice, pasta, potatoes, bread
- Healthier unsaturated fats from oily fish, avocado etc.
Tailored to your dietary and allergy requirements, a cardiovascular diet plan will vary between individuals depending on the results of your initial consultation with our registered dietitian. This is just one of the ways in which we can help you when booking an appointment, along with weight management, improving sleep and blood sugar control and supporting blood pressure management to name a few.
Our London heart clinic nutrition assessment takes a very holistic approach to ensure that the root cause of the specific symptoms you are experiencing are identified and addressed. The guidance you receive from our Registered Dietitian will accommodate your individual preferences and current lifestyle to help you achieve your short and long-term goals in a positive way, promoting a cardiac healthy diet without feeling restricted, or in any way overwhelmed.
