Catheter Ventricular Ablation Procedures

Catheter Ablation

In certain types of ventricular arrhythmia, ablation over a catheter inserted through the groin can be used. This can also be affective in cases where medical therapy has failed. Multiple therapies may sometimes be required.

Pacemaker

Sometimes, the nature of the heart beat requires the insertion of a pacemaker. This is especially effective in slow heart rhythms and in rhythms when the heart beats in a poorly coordinated manner (cardiac asynchrony).

Automated Implantable Cardioverter Defibrillator (AICD) may sometimes be required. These devices can detect and stop sinister ventricular rhythm disturbances, by delivering an electric shock to the heart muscle.
